I work for myself, a small construction company with a few helpers and have no insurance so you can imagine my costs for my monthly medications and doctor visits. I take 4 medications, 3 of which I cannot function without well or at all. Since 2000 melds have d

Since 2000, meds have doubled in price and my doctor visit has gone from $45 to $85 each time. I live by the border of Mexico and used to get them filled there but am uncomfortable crossing over nowadays. The med I recently need is testosterone. When I hit 41 my levels dropped significantly. We’ll add the visit $85 with the new price for testosterone in the U.S and its 10-11 times or more what the Mexican pharmacies charge. 1 bottle of test cyp. Made by one of 2 companies (no generic brand) cost $165 and change plus the doctor visit and $30 for blood work and online or in Mexico the same med is $25-30 total. This is insane so why should we not be allowed to get these high priced men’s from Europe or Asia? Why does a pill or shot that costs .26

This is insane so why should we not be allowed to get these high priced men’s from Europe or Asia? Why does a pill or shot that costs 26 cents or less (a pill is probably much less than a shot that lasts a week or so) to make and probably $5 to manufacture and make a full bottle cost so much? If that’s not inflation or robbery idk what is. Even when I had insurance it was cheaper to go to Mexico than pay the deductible etc.. Also I thought in this country we had a right to choose , a right to disagree but we don’t the money makes the rules and we no longer are a free country when pharmaceutical companies get to dictate

Also, I thought in this country we had a right to choose, a right to disagree but we don’t the money makes the rules and we no longer are a free country when pharmaceutical companies get to dictate thru laboratories / manufacturers and prices we “have to pay”! When I could cross the border it was legal for 3 bottles of each med then it changed to a 30 day supply or 30 pills or shots total not each. If I could declare these med crossing the border why can’t I claim them coming thru customs from wherever I found a legitimate cheap pharmacy? I tried once and they sent a letter saying it was seized if I wanted it to come show my prescriptions in San Francisco a 3 day drive one expensive flight. Also I had a different blood pressure med than prescribed because it was all I could find. Bottom line is there are really sick people who can’t afford to spend a truck note each month to get melds to stay healthy and live a comfortable life without cutting a corner and feeling like a criminal or just being sick. I recently broke my thumb and palm on the job and am in some tuff pain but hiring another worker to literally be my right hand is cheaper than a

I recently broke my thumb and palm on the job and am in some tuff pain but hiring another worker to literally be my right hand is cheaper than a doctor visit with a script or whatever cast they need to put on or pins idk and won’t know because I refuse to spend a fortune to find out or go to the ER and run up a bill I can’t afford. Maybe I should get insurance on myself as I have it on my kids but mine is more and each month it’s going to be close to the same as I pay now probably. I’m not sure tbh…. I just feel for lack of a better word “screwed over”!!! Bye Obama, maybe Trump will reverse this raise in medication costs.
