Holy conflict of interest Batman!

Although it isn't terribly shocking, it's still disturbing that Senator Patrick Leahy, the ringleader for last year's anti-piracy legislation, has a cameo in the new Batman blockbuster.

Sen. Leahy, introduced the Protect IP Act last year. And even after millions of Americans spoke out against the legislation due to it's threat to free speech and public health, he has been a proponent of its revival. Not coincidentally, the film, movie and music industry, and specifically Time Warner and Walt Disney, are huge Leahy campaign contributors.

Whether it's the pharmaceutical industry or Hollywood, the point couldn't be more clear: big business has too much influence on politics.
